At the time you bought your first CNC equipment (wow, ten years ago already) you did the smart thing (with your background) getting the Mazak Quick Turn Smart 200 with Mazatrol Smart conversational control for your new shop.
However, since then other builders have risen to the top of the commodity turning + machining centre market - with 3d hd colour graphics conversational controls and the same or better build construction - from technologically more advanced yet more cost-effective global manufacturing areas such as South Korea and Taiwan. This allowed me a few years ago to supply a large Mazak user in Ontario (with over 10 Mazak machines who insisted on the same or similar user-friendly control as the Mazatrol) with two turning centres from a different manufacturer built in Taiwan with the Fagor 8065 conversational control. Since then this customer has bought more turning centres of this Taiwanese brand equipped with the same Fagor control.
With the benefit of buying different machine brandswith the same conversational Fagor 8060/8065 control to best-fit specific application(s). So no need to buy from one manufacturer for a specific brand attached control if other brands are more suitable and cost-effective for the application.
Have a look at the following flyers and compare the special pricing (no need to enter your email address) with current Japanese brands' similarly sized / similarly equipped vertical machining centres:
