Before a Masteel service technician can finish level and commission a turning / machining / boring-milling centre and operator training can commence the following items need to be completed by the customer:
The machine needs to be placed in its final destination on its provided metal leveling pads on the customer shop's single concrete floor pad (with leveling bolts fully threaded into the threaded leveling pads).
The machine needs to be connected to its electrical power source with the correct voltage. If the shop voltage is different from the required machine voltage the customer needs to provide an isolation type transformer with the correct primary/secondary voltage and kVa rating for the machine and have it connected by a certified electrician.
The customer provided required coolant and hydraulic fluids need to be near the machine (as the machine is shipped without these in accordance with highway safety regulations) but not in the machine until it is leveled by a Masteel service technician.
Any required air (with an air dryer) needs to be provided by the customer to the machine.
The customer provided work holding for the simple sample part to be used during the standard fundamental machine operator training needs to be on the machine.
The customer provided cutting tools and tool holders needed for the simple sample part machining during the standard fundamental machine operator training need to be on the machine.
The customer provided simple part material to be used during the standard fundamental set-up and training needs to be at the machine.
Any customer provided CAM system generated EIA/ISO programs for the installed machine need to be post-processed for the Masteel installed machine + control by the customer's CAM system.
During the standard operator training the teacher will guide the student into the fundamental operation of the machine.
Customer specific applications are not covered during the standard fundamental training session as this affects the session’s time and results. For any customer application specific Masteel operator training not covered by the Masteel standard fundamental operator training the Masteel standard service / training rates apply.
However, if the customer specific application training (in lieu of the standard simple part application training) does not use any additional teaching time to the standard simple part application training Masteel considers this to be part of the included operator training.
If any of the above requirements are not met and completed by the customer at the time of Masteel’s pre-arranged standard fundamental operator training visit with the customer this visit will be charged at the Masteel standard service/training rates. A new session to complete the standard fundamental operator training will be scheduled on receipt of payment for the first incomplete training session.
